Together, building a better future
Built in 2005, this two bed registered home is set back 200 yards from a quiet road but is still only 600 yards from the main market town centre of Biggleswade.
Built specifically as a home to support those individuals wishing to live in a smaller more independent enviroment, with the ulitimate goal of independence or supported living, the bungalow is staffed only during waking hours and staff work with Service Users to develop independent living skills, such as financial management, including budgeting and planning, plus communication with service providers, transport etc as well as all the standard life skills.
The bungalow represents a traditional independent living enviroment and consists of 2 bedrooms, a lounge, bathroom and a domestic kitchen. Both bedrooms have ensuites with a tiolet and sink and a garden out the front and to the rear.
Room 1: 12m²
Room 2: 12m²
Providing Service Users with a stepping stone towards further independence, the bungalow enables them to have greater levels of choice, fulfilment and independent living. The desired result of providing such a service is to prepare Service Users to take a further step to further independence in their own supported living tenancy.
Each Service User has their own room and live together in the bungalow, sharing communal facilities such as the living room and kitchen.Service Users may personalise and decorate their own room to their own taste, including buying or bringing in furniture and electrical equipment, providing it meets with Fire regulations and/or PAT testing.
Magnolia Bungalow is a registered home and still offers all the protection associated with a registered service. Due to no night cover the home is equipped with a sprinkler system linked to the fire alarms and for emergencies a nurse call which is linked to Magnolia House - one of our registered homes staffed 24 hours a day which is situated 100 yards from the bungalow.
