Husbands Bosworth is a new transitional scheme for young adults with Learning Disabilities and complex needs who are aged between 16 and 25. It is located in the peaceful village of Husbands Bosworth in Leicestershire, just 6 miles west of Market Harborough and 14 miles south of Leicester. This location provides a very desirable balance of living within a calming rural environment with many opportunities for local community integration, together with easy access to all the facilities of the nearby town and city.

This very pleasant and spacious 8-bedroom property is situated in the heart of the village just a minute or two’s walk from local shops, a friendly pub and a park. The home has its own 7-seater people-carrier for direct access to all the shopping and leisure facilities of Market Harborough and Leicester. There is also a bus-stop nearby for independent access.

Being a new scheme the property has been fully refurbished and has been decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Of the 8 good-sized bedrooms one, on the ground floor, has an en-suite bathroom with a shower, WC and sink. The five bedrooms on the 1st floor and the two on the 2nd floor each have their own private washing facilities. There is a large communal bathroom on the 1st floor that has a bath and a WC, and another communal bathroom on the 2nd floor. There are additional separate toilets on all three floors.

Communal space comprises a large lounge, a utility room, a fully-fitted kitchen and a separate dining room. There is also an activities/games room and a good-sized secure rear garden.

The bedrooms comply with the National Minimum Standards for homes registered prior to August 2002 and are as follows:

Room 1: 13.03m²
Room 2: 11.92m²
Room 3: 20.85m²

Room 5: 10.7m²
Room 6: 11.39m²

In addition to a fitted carpet and curtains, each bedroom is provided with a wardrobe, chest of drawers, two chairs, desk, lockable space, shelving, bed, bedding and towels. However, Service Users may choose to have more or less of these items should they wish.

Service Users may personalise and decorate their own bedroom to their own taste, including buying or bringing in furniture and electrical equipment, providing it meets with fire regulations and/or PAT testing. Each bedroom has windows that can be opened but which have restrictors fitted for the individual’s safety. All bedrooms are fitted with a lock, for which the Service User holds the key. Any person, including staff, wishing to enter a bedroom will first obtain permission to enter the room from the Service User.

Bedrooms have electrical sockets and a TV aerial socket, but do not have a phone point. A cordless phone is available for all Service Users to use in private if they wish.
