Cardinals Gate - Peterborough
This is a modern detached bungalow that is situated in a very quiet cul-de-sac in Werrington, Peterborough. It supports mainly younger adults who have Learning Disabilities and complex needs.
The property has six bedrooms, all of which have an en-suite WC and personal washing facilities. Four of the bedrooms additionally have an en-suite shower. The other two bedrooms share a communal bathroom that has a bath, shower and WC.
Communal areas include a lounge, separate dining room, kitchen and utility room. There is also a large garden and a conservatory.
Local shops, a friendly pub and a park are just a few minutes’ walk away, as is a bus-stop for independent access to the city centre. There are two 7-seater people-carriers to enable simultaneous access to areas of the city for work and college placements.
All bedrooms are furnished to a high standard. In addition to a fitted carpet and curtains, each has a wardrobe, chest of drawers, two chairs, desk, lockable space, shelving, bed, bedding and towels. However, Service Users may elect to reject or add to these items should they wish. There may also be a reduction/increase in this provision if a specific risk/need is identified within their care plan or risk assessment. All bedrooms are for single occupancy only.
Service Users may personalise and decorate their own bedroom to their own taste, including buying or bringing in furniture or electrical equipment, providing it meets with fire regulations and/or PAT testing.
A cordless telephone is available for Service Users to use in private if they so wish. All persons, including staff, wishing to enter a bedroom will obtain permission from the Service User first (except in the case of an emergency or concern for the wellbeing of the Service User).
