This is a substantial yet very homely semi-detached property with 5 bedrooms. It is situated in Oadby, on the outskirts of Leicester, and accommodates adults of a more mature age with Learning Disabilities and challenging behaviours.

There is one bedroom on the ground floor, which has an en-suite bath and WC. The other bedrooms are on the first floor; one of which has an en-suite bath, shower and WC. The other bedrooms have their own sink and share a communal bathroom with a bath and WC and also share an additional separate WC.

Communal space comprises a large open-plan kitchen/lounge with a conservatory extension, which is used as the dining area. All Service Users are encouraged to assist in the preparation of meals, snacks and drinks. There is an attractive, secure garden that Service Users are encouraged to take full advantage of year-round.

Local shops and a park are just two minutes’ walk away, as is a bus-stop for easy access to Leicester’s extensive shopping and leisure facilities.

Bedrooms comply with the National Minimum Standards for homes registered prior to August 2002 and are as follows:

Room 1: 12.39m²
Room 2: 12.27m²
Room 3: 10.53m²
Room 4: 17.78m²
Room 5: 10.46m²

Bedrooms are decorated and furnished to a high standard. In addition to a fitted carpet and curtains, each has a wardrobe, chest of drawers, two chairs, desk, lockable space, shelving, bed, bedding and towels. However, the Service User may choose to have more or less of these items should they wish. There may also be a reduction/increase in this provision if a specific risk/need is identified within their Care Plan and/or associated risk assessments.

Service Users may personalise and decorate their own room to their own taste, including buying or bringing in furniture and electrical equipment, providing it meets with fire regulations and/or PAT testing.

Bedrooms are fitted with electrical points and a television aerial socket but are not fitted with a telephone socket. A cordless telephone is available for Service Users to use in private should they wish. All persons, including staff, wishing to enter a bedroom will first obtain permission from the Service User (except in the case of an emergency or concern for the wellbeing of the Service User).
