Together, building a better future
This is a 5 bedroom purpose-built residential care home situated in Rushden, Northamptonshire. Residents are generally those who require a greater level of support in their daily routines. The house accommodates younger adults, generally between 18 and 40, with Learning Disabilities and medium to high challenging behaviours.
Communal space includes a sizable lounge, a dining room and a conservatory. There is also a large fully-fitted kitchen in which Service Users prepare meals, snacks and drinks, or assist staff at meal times. There are two bathrooms; one with a bath and WC and the other with a walk-in shower and WC.
The house has a large and secure rear garden, which Service Users are encouraged to make full use of.
The bedrooms comply with the National Minimum Standards for homes registered prior to August 2002 and are as follows:

Room 2: 11.5m² (Ground Floor)
Room 3: 11.5m² (Ground Floor)
Room 4: 12.4m² (Ground Floor)

Three of the bedrooms have a sink with vanity cupboard, mirror and shaving socket. Each bedroom is carpeted and furnished with curtains, wardrobe, chest of drawers, two chairs, desk, lockable space, shelving, bed, bedding and towels. However, the Service User may elect to reject or add to these items if they wish. There may also be an increase/reduction in this provision if a specific risk/need is identified in their individual Care Plan or risk assessment. Each bedroom is for single occupancy only.
Service Users may personalise and decorate their own room to their own taste, including buying or bringing in furniture or electrical equipment, providing it meets with fire regulations and/or PAT testing.
Each bedroom has windows that can be opened by the Service User if they wish, although all windows have restrictors fitted for their protection. All bedroom doors are fitted with a lock, for which the Service User holds the key. These can be locked from the inside and outside. The bedroom doors do not have a letterbox; all mail is delivered through the main front door and any private mail for residents is given to them, unopened, by staff. Each room also has two double sockets and a television aerial socket. The bedrooms do not have a telephone socket fitted. A cordless telephone is available for all clients to use in private should they wish. All persons, including staff, wishing to enter a bedroom will first obtain permission to enter the room from the Service User.
There is off-road parking for ten vehicles. The house vehicle is parked outside the house and is a 7-seater people-carrier. It is available to Service Users 7 days a week (subject to staff drivers).
